New Board Member Appointments for the 2024-25 Season!
Welcome to our newest group of Volunteers who have joined the LMHA Board of Directors.
U11 Convenor – Heather Brennae
We are pleased to share that Heather Brennae has offered to take on the role of U11 Convenor. The Brennae’s joined the Hawks family last year and their son William quickly fell in love with the game. Heather is a communications and marketing professional with CMHC and understands the importance of timely and effective communication. She recently took on the role of co-convenor with the South Ottawa minor baseball league for their spring season and will bring that experience and learning to her role as U11 Convenor.
U11 Assistant Convenor – Bassem Rahal
Bassem was an outstanding Team Manager at U11 last year. His organization and communication were spot on, which made him someone that we were looking towards coaxing to step up and take on more responsibility by joining the Board of Directors. Bassem and Heather have been on team’s together before, and are eager to work together to get the season underway for our U11 Division this season!
U7 Convenor – Cassidy Damp
Cassidy is thrilled to step into the role of U7 Convenor. She is a mom of three, an 8 year old and 4 year old twins, all of whom will be playing for the Hawks this season. The twins are of age to play IP4 now so she was eager to become more involved in our community.
A bit about Cassidy: She grew up competing in skating until she was 9, when then transitioned to competitive dance. Although she always dreamed of playing hockey, her parents kept her and her three sisters in the same sport, and encouraged them to pursue competitive dance. Recently, I began taking hockey development classes and have fallen in love with the sport. Professionally, Cassidy works as a sign language interpreter with the Ottawa Catholic School Board, where she supports a special needs class. This role has allowed her to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues. She has a keen understanding of the importance of effective communication and teamwork, and she is excited to bring these skills to this volunteer position.
Treasurer Appointment – Mary-Jane Kut
We have also found a Treasurer in Mary-Jane Kut. Mary-Jane is also a Certified Professional Accountant, who has been supporting her son Nicholas’ teams as Treasurer over her time as an LMHA parent. Our outgoing Treasurer, Erin Dallaire, has spoken with Mary-Jane and offered to support her as needed throughout the season to ensure she is supported in being successful in her new role. Erin has been a huge support to Marc over the previous seasons in the financial record-keeping of the association and we are super grateful for all she has brought to the Board.
